More Hawkishness

Strictly photos today, as we wait out the brooding season, take a vacation away from the nest, and hope for a late spring hatching. I am truly nervous to be gone from these two for a month. I can plan for Sadie’s care, and will hear the stories when I return. But for the Hawk family, I will simply miss a huge part of the story. Well, it’s not so sad that it will keep me home!

  1. Susan, it sounds like you need a “hawk-cam!” I love all of your hawk photos.

BTW, you may have noticed that things have been quiet at Gallivance. Our travels have been (temporarily) suspended because I blew out my knee and recently had to have total knee replacement surgery. Not fun, but I’m working hard on recovery. We haven’t forgotten about our friends and want things to get back to normal. James and I are looking forward to catching up with you and finding out what you’ve been up to. In the meantime, thanks for continuing to follow along.

    All the best, Terri

    1. Oh my goodness, Terri. Those replacement surgeries are the good news/bad news stories of our generation! Tough recovery, but great prospects for the future. We just got back from a trip where a dinner companion had a new hip, began the trip walking with a cane and ended walking on her own. Maybe you and James would like to celebrate a one-year knee anniversary and join us on the Camino walk in Northern Spain May 2017?!! I think if I am to do it, better sooner than later. In the meantime, there’s no better place for recovery than your Gallivance basecamp. Wishing you less pain and more movement every day – Susan

  2. Hello! I saw your address on ‘A note from abroad’ where you said you were heading to Portugal in the near future. I have recently returned and am posting about a week in the Alentejo – you might be interested in some of the photos. Portugal is a wonderful country to explore – I am sure you will enjoy yourself!
