Night Fall in Hong Kong

It seems that nearly everyone I spoke with had been to Hong Kong. I hadn’t. With more than 7 million residents, it is a small city by Chinese standards, but very big for drawing in the crowds. Finally, it was my turn.

Traveling to places that are new to me can be a sensory overload. I like to step aside from the footrace as soon as I can and find a safe spot to observe what’s around. It’s a moment of settling-in, so I seek a quiet corner where I can adjust, listen, breathe in new aromas, let my first reactions be for just me to experience. Here is what I found during my first sundown in Hong Kong:

watch the bustle begin
watch the bustle begin

And then:

shopping for dinner?
shopping for dinner?

And finally:

Settling down
Settling down

I think I’m going to like this place.
